ReCycled Packaging for Bike Brand

Paper-based packaging can be more sustainable than plastic. However, only when it originates from sustainably managed forests. If logging takes place in ancient or endangered ecosystems, the environmental damage is significant. So, how do you know if your cardboard boxes and paper packaging are ethically sourced?

Pack4Good Initiative

Canopy Plant has set up the Pack4Good initiative. This encourages brands to take a greater interest in ensuring a sustainable supply chain by checking globally recognised certifications. It also promotes steps to minimise packaging waste through design, the volume of packaging used and circular thinking.

Sustainable Bike Boxes

One of the many companies to be inspired by Pack4Good is a leading bike brand, Canyon. They have since made moves to reduce packaging without compromising the sturdy bike delivery boxes. In addition, plastic clips are now made from recycled plastic and all paper-based packaging is certified.

This shift towards sustainable bike boxes has reduced packaging materials used, lowered CO2 emissions and cut costs.
