Bespoke Cardboard Trophies

Charity 10K races are a popular fundraiser. Enthusiastic runners of all ages and abilities take part in events up and down the country. Barnstable’s Care for Kids event was one example. The largely flat route started at the Rugby Club and followed the Tarka Trail, crossing both Taw Bridge and Long Bridge. Entries and sponsorship raised nearly £7,000 for the North Devon charity.

Cardboard Trophies

The defining factor at this fundraiser was the awards. Overall and age-category winners were each presented with a fantastic corrugated cardboard trophy. The stylised trainer on a plinth was designed and made by a local cardboard packaging company, Atlas Packaging. It’s a sustainable and personalised record of achievement that features in no other 10K race.

Big on community involvement, the company has also built a Viking Long Ship to complete in the Bideford Cardboard Boat Regatta. They also created cardboard trophies for that event. Cardboard is such a versatile material, which can be shaped into much more than a delivery box. So, it’s great to see original and fully sustainable designs. A fabulous prize for the worthy winners!
