Packaging Upgrade for 2025?
If you love your brand and product, does your packaging reflect the message and values you want to share? Is it time to rethink your retail packaging or better your shipping boxes? We give you food for thought on a packaging upgrade for 2025.
What’s the Packaging Style for 2025?
The primary trend for the coming year continues the theme of minimalism. Less is more design reduces the range of colours, fonts and design elements on the packaging. Yet, rather than being dull, the limitations inspire creative approaches.
Colour – blocks of pastel colours are leading the field. We’re seeing individual product packaging using just one or two dominant colours. However, the palette is extended across the range to create a delightful collection.
Typography – again the number of fonts used on packaging has been paired down. However, the primary font has become bigger, bolder and very much part of the visual.
Graphics – where illustrations are used by brands, there is a move towards the hand-drawn or artisan style. This gives a more authentic and creative twist to the packaging design.
Inspiration – from established brands to new product ranges, many are looking to the past styles. This has resulted in a twist on retro designs, which appear both familiar and fresh.
Underpinning all of these points sits sustainability. The use of recycled and recyclable materials, along with the removal of excessive packaging, are now viewed as essential. Being a responsible brand is a factor that increasingly influences purchasing decisions. Is your packaging ticking the sustainability boxes?
