Can I Recycle this Packaging?

Recycling rates are increasing across the UK. Consumers are selecting brands and products with recyclable packaging, but not everything is suitable for roadside collections. How do you know if the packaging is recycled locally?

Recycling Router

To help consumers, WRAP and Valpak have launched the Recycling Router. This tool offers postcode specific information on local recycling facilities. Shoppers can either check online for the nearest place to recycle packaging materials or scan a QR code on boxes, wrappers, bottles and other packaging.

To get involved, companies need to sign up for the scheme, following which, a QR code to be applied to their packaging. It’s then convenient for shoppers could to scan the code when sorting their waste. Is this a tool that you would be inclined to use?
