Action to Tackle Packaging Waste
The report highlights five primary areas of action, which include tackling food waste and non-recyclable packaging.
In terms of packaging, they are actively aiming to:
– measure and reduce packaging volume
– only use cardboard and paper that is FSC® certified
– achieve the Plastic Pact targets
– encourage a 20% absolute reduction in food & drink packaging
They put greater emphasis on gaining evidence of sustainable supply chains for both commodities and packaging.
